“ This is the last place I ate my last visit to Denver and now it's my first meal back in Denver 10 months later! Delicious! ”
“ No reservation needed on a week night and was sat immediately with a large party. Ordered the tikka masala. Was standard but solid. ”
“ This is very good Indian food. It is not cheap, but is definitely worth the price. Unlike many of the restaurants in the area, this one actually has a few of its own dedicated parking spots, which can be very handy. The owners and staff are very friendly. The food is consistently good. The butter chicken, and chicken tikka masala are both very good. The last dish that I had there that really impressed me was the Kadai -- Traditional north Indian curry cooked with slow roasted bell peppers, onion and garlic with thick aromatic curry sauce. ”
“ I dined in on a Saturday evening and this place was mostly empty but I have no idea why because it might be my new favorite Indian restaurant in Denver! The service was great and the food was even better. The samosas and curries were some of the best I've had and the naan was perfect! My only compliant was the draft beer we ordered was totally flat. They still get five stars because they took them off our tab when we asked for bottled beers. I will be back (often) and can't wait to try more of their menu! ”
“ Love it when Yelp reviews lead me to discover great restaurants and this spot definitely falls into that category. Extremely clean and tidy restaurant, warmly greeted upon entry by our server. We had questions about certain items on the menu and our server was thorough in her explanation. The food was absolutely amazing, we had the Goat Curry, Onion Bhaji, Chicken Momo and Tandoori wings... all absolutely sumptuous, my favorite was definitely the Onion Bhaji, crispy and savoury! Definitely recommend this spot, reasonably priced, great service and amazing food! ”
“ Very spacious, nicely decorated, and super clean. The staff were all very kind. Their menu was diverse with something for everyone. The food was delicious. ”
“ Wow! Highly recommend! Feels like a hidden gem, we were one of only two tables on Saturday night and I was blown away. Food was quick and delicious. Staff was super friendly and let us know they are opening up a new spot to be called Spice Kitchen, solely for takeout orders, in the downtown area. I felt well taken care of by the staff. Very relaxed environment and was able to enjoy my meal with my husband and hear each other in conversation. So much better than the competition around the corner Can't wait to come back and try more! Food was 11/10! If I could paint a picture, I felt like Remy in Ratatouille with all of the flavors bursting and swirling. This place is IT!!! ”
“ This is one of our favorite places to grab drinks & food before a show at The Oriental. The food here is fantastic. Everything I have ordered here has been delicious. The Masala is probably my favorite dish. But, I have really enjoyed the Saag, Garlic Cheese Naan & Vegetable Samosas as well. The mint sauce that comes with the samosas is stellar. These guys also make pretty spectacular cocktails. The mule with white whiskey was wonderful. They have several, local craft beers on tap as well as more traditional Indian beers in bottles. This is Tennyson, so parking is always going to be challenging. Just plan ahead, wear your walking shoes and be prepared to walk a block or two. ”
“ I discovered the Himalayan Spice Indian restaurant on a random Yelp search prior to arrival. It was a 4.8 star rating and close enough to a perfect score. Needless to say that I wanted to try this place. I placed a reservation prior to arrival, thinking that it would be busy. After arriving at the airport and taking an Uber to get to the restaurant, I found out that the restaurant was virtually empty with only 2 tables occupied on a Thursday morning. I arrived here around 11:35am. The ambiance was good and quiet. I decided to choose a spot that was a booth and near the entrance. Once I checked in on the Yelp app, I was given a 10% off offer from my check. I showed this to the server and he agreed I can used it. I probably spent about an hour here, ordering a bit more than I'm used to. I eventually boxed up the rest of what I couldn't finish and ended up having it for lunch the next day after microwaving it in the hotel room prior to check out. I ordered the lamb vindaloo, garlic cheese naan, tandoori chicken, and the tandoori chicken wings. I decided to have water for the drink. As far as I know, I boxed up part of the garlic cheese naan and the entire portion of the tandoori chicken for lunch the next day. For the most part though, the experience here at the Himalayan Spice Indian restaurant was nice and casual. While it wasn't the best, it was certainly high and great expectations were already given. Food was delicious of course, but not as 5 stars as many people claim. Still delicious though. The overall experience here at the Himalayan Spice Indian restaurant - Denver was good and definitely a must do. While the prices here were typical of many Indian restaurants that I've frequented over the years, it's the quality and the flavors that are most important in this instance. I enjoyed the tandoori chicken wings first before the basmati rice with the lamb vindaloo arrived. I'm not sure but the tandoori chicken wings tasted like regular chicken wings with barbecue sauce (and other seasonings) on it. It was delicious but that's how I viewed it. The lamb vindaloo was good as I had it with the basmati rice and the garlic naan. It was a perfect mixture of sinful goodness, comfort food, and very good deliciousness that could not be compared. While it was awesome and a welcome respite after 7 hr worth of flights on 2 aircraft, it was wonderful to see be here and to sample top notch Indian cuisine in the heart of Denver, Colorado. While it was certainly good and delicious, I'm not sure if it was the best but it was certainly above average for sure. Although having a nice almost empty restaurant to enjoy the ambiance does help also, but the food itself wasn't 5*. 4.5 sure. While Yelp doesn't have a half point rating system just yet, Its tough to give them a 4.0 or a 5.0 star, when it's in between that - at least for my experience. If you're looking for an Indian restaurant in Denver, consider coming here to the Himalayan Spice Indian restaurant. It's very good and the service was friendly. Himalayan Spice Indian restaurant is located at 1234 Thyssen Street in metro Denver, Colorado. They accept major credit cards as well as cash. As far as parking goes, there was limited parking here for the merchants here. Probably around maybe 15 or so parking stalls. Then there's street parking wherever you can find it in the local area nearby. I came by Uber from the airport that day, so there's that service if you decide on coming, although the prices from the airport for Uber was a little bit higher than I expected but maybe it's probably because of the Denver international airport. If you love public transportation, consider which routes are best for your situation and plan accordingly. Best bet is to head over to the Denver area public transportation website and see which routes are best suited for your trip here to Himalayan Spice Indian restaurant. The experience was enjoyable and it was nice to be not dining in a loud and busy restaurant. Need that down time to decompress from traveling. 4.5 stars for the overall experience. 4.0 stars for the food and service. 5.0 stars for the ambiance. 3.0 stars for the prices. Support local! B+ ”
